Look at the pretty girls!

Juxtaposition of fancy and farm. Our “Chulitas” pull this off in spades!...and shovels…..and hoes and grinders!!! Special thanks to Eric....and his awesome refurbished 1972 Land Cruiser...great vehicle but even greater driver!

We love our models! Kaitlin, Courtney, Lizzie, Alli and Anika! None better and Border Barbies all!!! We want to show off a few of our pretties!

A Sloppy Ending....Round Top in Our Rear View Mirror

….and it rained and rained and rained. Leaving Round Top, we packed and loaded up our stuff in a huge ol’ sloppy muddy mess. Pretty funny slippin’ and slidin’ in the slop and sludge where more than one Chula went down for the count. Tim to the rescue. Thanks!!! It saved these old girls from an even bigger headache and helped us get on the road towards Whataburger and the border that much sooner.

Little Girls Never Grow Up.....Playing Dress Up

When are you too old to play dress up? Nevah!!! What fun we had trying on dresses and skirts and shirts and evening gowns and jammies and slips and coats and kimonos!!! We found the "ultimate prom dress", a Whataburger waitress uniform, and a Space Cowgirl outfit. When these girls get together, we love to play. The major motto of the Chulas is that “everything goes with boots”. Texas girls can pull it off. Even nightgowns and slips look like an outfit with boots and turquoise. Even if you aren’t Texan (we are SOOOO sorry about that!) grab a pair of great cowboy boots and get it goin'.

This Chula remembers so very well trying on hand-me-downs from the cousins. They’d clean out their closets, invite us over, and have a” try-on-the-clothes-I don’t-want-anymore” fashion show. They’d sit back on their bunk beds with yellow gingham bedspreads and the cat clock whose tail wags ticking off time in the background and give out “what not to wear” style advice to rival Stacy and Clinton. I got some really good stuff!

We think vintage is so fun because it has a history, a former owner, a life you don’t know about. Its imperfections are part of its story. Wherever you are on the timeline of life….give it a try…be a little girl again….Play dress up just ‘cause it’s fun…..AND…. don’t forget your boots!

Round Top Round Two...Fall 2009

September 2009....Off we went again to Warrenton...this time the Papi Chulas escorted us....with the new old shiny Airstream in tow. It was our great plan to use the trailer as a dressing room and a hide out for the week of the show. We can happily report the brand new air conditioner works like a charm and was very well worth the investment! We had lunch and watched movies in the salon...and napped on the swanky vinyl beds. Ahhhh....it was so nice! A refuge from the dirt, wind, heat and rain. Typical Texas weather.

It was a great show for us...we had many repeat customers! The Chulas love, love, love meeting up with the A&M Chulas and the Chula cousins and aunts and grannys. We laugh about the crazy stuff we did, the wacko stuff we are doing and silly stuff we have planned.....
